How is information to make proteins passed on through generations?

Answered by wiki @

DNA is responsible for passing information for making protiens. DNA is linked with chromosomes, which are duplicated in every cell of the organism's body. Depending on the mode of reproduction, it either undergoes meiosis to produce haploid gametes, which are fertilized and become diploid, and hopefully mature to become reproductive adults or undergoes mitosis to form a fully-fledged adult which eventually drops off the parent and goes on to produce other adults
